My free offering is a short introduction to stories of the Ancestral Mothers of Scotland.
The collective stories of Scotland’s Ancestral Mothers have developed out of my relationship with place, the land under my feet. As with anything meaningful and enduring, my connection with these figures has developed and deepened over time.
This mini course covers three stories.

1.Breejah - Autumn Equinox Descent
I begin the deep half of the year at Autumn Equinox, with the story of Breejah, who lived in a time when bears still roamed in Scotland. A guided story takes you to visit the Cave of the Grandmothers, where the she-bear hibernates.

2. The Cailleach -Samhain
The Cailleach is the old woman of Gaelic belief. She draws us into the dark of the year with her ritual of washing her great plaid in the churning waters of the Corryvrekcen whirlpool, also known as the Cailleachs Cauldron.

3. Winter Solstice - She Who Runs With the herd
This story comes from a time when people followed great herds or reindeer into these lands in the time of the great ice. She Who Runs story is of a ritual the women folk perform, in a shape shifting ritual.
