Saturday 28th Jan. 7.30-9.30 PM UK / 2.30-4.30 PM Eastern US
Zoom Gathering
+ Online Course (self paced)
In these dark days join me as we gather to celebrate Brighid’s return to the world at Imbolc. While the days grow ever so slightly longer after the Winter Solstice I have always felt that we are plunged into an ever deeper darkness at Imbolc. Perhaps it’s at this point, while we are still in the dark of the year, that as we look ahead, and back to the year past we realize the war, climate destruction events happening and the lack of leadership to stand up and address these issues. It can feel soul destroying what we have released on the world and the human caused social injustices - suffering of global south and injustices around the world.
This is the perfect time for Brighid to return to the world, bringing her light, a source of hope. She offers an active hope and invites us to make our own difference in the world - starting with ourselves, then rippling out to our family and friends, neighbors and community.

“Gathering at Brigid’s Hearth - was full of community, connections to Brigid and women around the world who love her and a lovely way to honor Imbolc - Brigid’s holiday and learn more about this beloved and powerful Goddess. I highly recommend it and Jude’s other offerings. ”
“Gathering at Brighid’s Hearth is a powerful and enchanted course that examines the story of a goddess, a saint and a feminist. Being a part of it allowed me to meet and develop a relationship with the goddess. It introduced me to some Celtic customs and rites. and inspired me to evolve my own rituals and prayers of protection (the caim). ”

Your Guide
Jude Lally is an artist and writer with a background in Human Ecology who explores her connection to the land through art, story and ritual.
As an artist she is a Radical doll maker who views her art as part of a practice that stretches back to the first dolls fashioned from bones and stones – such as the Woman of Willendorf. She uses dolls as a way of connecting to ancestral figures and exploring the wisdom they represent. As a painter her work is born between the worlds and she creates ancestral figures whose images incorporate local soils.
Through Cultural Activist she draws upon the rich tapestry of her heritage offering ancestral practices such as Keening which when used in a modern setting can help to honor the grief we feel for all that is happening in the world. In using keening in this cathartic way she uses gestures of ritual which help inspire to work in creative ways in acts of resistance, working towards a restorative culture.
received her Masters of Science degree in Human Ecology with the University of Strathclyde (in partnership with the Centre for Human Ecology) in 2008. Her tradition is the Ancestral Mothers of Scotland which is born out of her deep rooted connection to the land. She explores the relationship through art, story and ritual around the wheel of the year. She lives in the West Coast of Scotland on the banks of the River Clyde, near Loch Lomond.
