Sheena Macleod was a world famous award winning Scottish doll maker. She made 12 character styles of dolls, from women who gathered seaweed and lichen for dying tweed, to fishwife, and knitter and spinners from the Highland and Islands.

All the fabrics are Scottish made, the hands and feet made from clay. The body is made of cloth over a wire armature and the hair is real lambswool.

Her original tag reads:

A typical fishwife, dressed in traditional costume of the coastal fishing communities of the north and north-east at the turn of the century. Carrying the fish in her creel, she sold them in neighbouring towns and villages.
