Fisherman. In Scotland, most coastal villages depended o fishing for their livelihood. This could involve every member of the family. They would build their boats, make and repair nets, reap the harvest of the sea and to the screams of the gulls, take it safe to the harbour.

Bodach is the Gaelic names for old man. This doll is made by Sheena MacLeod who was an world famous award winning Scottish doll maker. She made 12 character styles of dolls. Today her dolls are quite rare and have become collectors items.

Cailleach is the Gaelic name for old woman. She is without tags. Also sits on a stool. Her skirt and shawl are Harris tweed, and cotton overskirt and headscarf. She wears thick red blowers and underskirt.
