This old man is sitting with a basket containing a fishing net. He wears a pair of Harris Tweed trousers and a black woolen cap, a black d white woollen jumper and a waterproof apron.

Fisherman. In Scotland, most coastal villages depended o fishing for their livelihood. This could involve every member of the family. They would build their boats, make and repair nets, reap the harvest of the sea and to the screams of the gulls, take it safe to the harbour.
Bodach is the Gaelic names for old man. This doll is made by Sheena MacLeod who was an world famous award winning Scottish doll maker. She made 12 character styles of dolls. Today her dolls are quite rare and have become collectors items.
Old Woman Doll - she is without tags. Also sits on a stool. Her skirt ad shawl are Harris tweed, and cotton overskirt and headscarf. She wears thick red blowers and underskirt.
